Our community is facing a significant challenge with parking availability. With many empty areas around us, it seems strange that we struggle to find solutions to our parking issues. To address this, I propose that we form a working group dedicated to exploring how we can effectively create 10-15 additional parking spaces for year-round rental.

By collaborating with an architect, we can develop a plan that maximizes our available space to meet these needs efficiently.
Exploring Gym Space
One solution could be to assess the gym area for potential parking. By strategically removing some internal walls and the cupola, we could convert this space into designated parking. For example, this could create 5-10 new parking slots. Additionally, removing the cupola would lower ongoing maintenance costs, giving us a dual benefit that strengthens our community's resources.
Utilizing Under-Gym Space
Another potential solution is to look into the area beneath the gym. The ramp leading down may seem like an overlooked space, but with the right analysis, this area could provide 5-7 more parking spots. An architect's assessment will help us understand what structural changes, if any, would be needed to safely utilize this space for parking.
Evaluating Garden Spaces
We should also consider the garden spaces along our existing roads. Often, these landscaped areas can be redesigned to accommodate vehicles without sacrificing our community’s aesthetics.
Reconfiguring garden plots can create room for additional parking slots while maintaining our green spaces. An architect can provide innovative designs that blend functionality and beauty seamlessly.
Consulting with Parking Management Companies
Contacting professional parking management companies like AP2K or Qpark could enhance our efforts. Their expertise may provide creative solutions to our parking challenges, including efficient layouts and new technologies to streamline processes.
Next Steps
We need a community to form a working committee and agreement that to hire an architect to do an initial study. This could be funded by a small deposit from 10-15 owners who would want to buy or have priority to rent these parking spaces. If this has already been done, then a working group could review the work that was done in the past. If we reach the conclusion that additional parking options are limited despite our efforts, it is crucial to keep detailed records of our findings. This documentation will serve as a valuable resource for any future discussions or inquiries about community parking.
